The Austrian Wiener Spiele Akademie, Vienna's game academy, has anounced the winners of this year's "Spiel der Spiele" award. Recipient of the main prize is Istanbul Das Würfelspiel  (photo) by Rüdiger Dorn, published by Pegasus, a variant of the "Kennerspiel des Jahres" winner of 2014. Merchants collect rubies, goods and money, which also involves luck with the dice. A dozen further games were awarded the seal "Spiele Hit", among them the best ideas for children (Schlaraffen Affen by Amanda Birkinshaw and Jim Harrison / publisher: Schmidt, Speed Colors by Erwan Morin / Game Factory, Tief im Riff by Alex Randolph / Amigo), for families (Azul by Michael Kiesling / Pegasus, Salamamba by Anna Oppolzer / Piatnik, Woodlands by Daniel Fehr / Ravensburger), for friends ages 13 and up (5 Minute Dungeon by Reid Connor / Kosmos, Bunny Kingdom by Richard Garfield / Iello, Die Quacksalber von Quedlinburg by Wolfgang Warsch / Schmidt) as well as for experts not shying away from more complex rules (Gaia Project by Helge Ostertag and Jens Drögemüller / Feuerland, Heaven & Ale by Andreas Schmidt and Michael Kiesling / Plan B, Pulsar 2849 by Vladímír Suchý / Czech Games Edition).

To feature another especially remarkable game aside from the main competition, the institute bestowed a special award on Interaction by Manfred Lamplmair and Reinhard Kern, published by Rudy Games; it connects with social networks such as Facebook with its "Social Engine" app, using the data there to compile individual questions and games for the participants.
