High-powered brains appreciate brevity as the soul of wit, too. Therefore the "MinD" games award of the high-IQ society Mensa in Deutschland (MinD) dedicates one of its two categories to complex titles, but the other to games with a short playing time and compact rules. In the latter category, these six candidates are in the running: 13 Indizien (Game Factory) is a classic deduction game the aim of which is to determine the perpetrator, the scene of the crime and the weapon; because the other players' actions usually contain information relevant to one's own progress, constant attention is required. Decrypto (iello) picks up elements of Codenames, "MinD" winner of 2017, creating a new game in which the teams don't have to find the exact secret original terms, a rough idea is enough; but the closer they get, the greater the chance of winning. With Illusion (NSV), it's important not to be misled when determining color proportions. Memoarrr! (Edition Spielwiese) is a tricky Memory variant that literally brings movement into the game through the special characteristics of animals. With the help of colorful, surreal maps in Shadows Amsterdam (Libellud) the leaders send their respective teams on a real-time journey through the city; the first player to hit the targeted stations wins. After Magic Maze (Amigo) took third place last year, the successor X-Code is in the race this time; players can and must talk, otherwise the hourglass has expired before only a single code was entered.

Voting runs until the end of the year. In addition to online voting, Mensa members can also try out the games at various events. In the United States, these games recently won the "Mensa Select" award 2019.
