Since 2011, players of Richard Garfield's King of Tokyo have been competing who can best use their monstrosities to reduce the Japanese capital to rubble Godzilla-style. This was followed by expansions with new Halloween and Cthulhu monsters, and in 2014, King of New York moved the setting to the USA. Now French games publisher Iello and its German distribution partner Hutter Trade are letting dark times dawn for fans of the series, but only visually: starting in April, the limited King of Tokyo - Dark Edition will maintain the proven concept while outfitting the basic game with new graphics that clearly stand out from the multicoloured original. Another new element is a "malice scale", which makes the creatures' behaviour even meaner. The price should be around 40 €.

Another new Iello release is called Time Bomb - Evolution: Yusuke Sato's idea revolves around Sherlock Holmes' brilliant adversary Professor Moriarty who has placed bombs in various London buildings. Under time pressure, the players on the team try to defuse the explosives. Additional suspense stems from surprising consequences of each deactivation and the fact that there are traitors among the players themselves. Here the price is roughly 14 €.
