16.10.2025 - Auf der kommenden SPIEL in Essen stellen Hasbro Games und der Tochterverlag Avalon Hill ihre Neuheiten gemeinsam in Halle 7 am Stand E211 vor. Darunter ist ein neues Werk von Elizabeth Hargrave, die 2019 mit Flügelschlag das "Kennerspiel des Jahres" gewonnen hatte: 2026 bringt sie bei Avalon Hill Sanibel heraus, ein Strategiespiel, das mit Familien eine breitere Zielgruppe anspricht. Am Strand sammeln die Spielenden hier vom Meer angespülte Muscheln, illustriert mit Aquarellen von Dahl Taylor. Taktik soll sich dabei mit einem meditativen Erlebnis verbinden.

Ebenfalls bei Avalon Hill erscheint die erste Erweiterung von Leben in Reterra namens Mondaufgang, in der Eric M. Lang und Ken Gruhl einen postapokalyptischen Wiederaufbau in Szene setzen. Cosmolancer heißt eine neue Idee von Reiner Knizia, in der Weltraumfotografen Kameras platzieren, um die schönsten Seiten des Weltalls abzulichten. Joe Manganiello, den man als Schauspieler u.a. aus "True Blood" oder "Magic Mike" kennt, ist Autor der HeroQuest-Erweiterung Krypta der ewigen Finsternis: Sein Dungeon-Crawler-Abenteuer umfasst zehn Quests mit einem schwarzen Drachen, neuen Gegnern und exklusiven Miniaturen. Einsteigern ab 14 Jahren empfiehlt sich das neu überarbeitete Basisspiel HeroQuest – Der Aufbruch.

Im November kommt Talisman Nemesis – Ruf der Jagd in den Handel, eine Erweiterung der 5. Talisman-Edition: Während ein/e Spielende/r in die Rolle des Nemesis schlüpft, wollen die anderen diesen in drei Prüfungen mit neuen Kreaturen und Mechaniken besiegen. Noch bedeckt hält sich Avalon Hill mit zwei Weltpremieren für 2026, die in Essen enthüllt werden, darunter eine andere HeroQuest-Erweiterung und ein neues Spiel eines renommierten Designerduos.

Kürzlich ausgezeichnete Prominenz reist fürs Hasbro-Label aus Japan an: Hisashi Hiyashi, "Spiel des Jahres 2025"-Gewinner mit Bomb Busters (Pegasus Spiele), präsentiert am Donnerstagnachmittag (23.10.) selbst sein neues, einsteigerfreundliches Stichspiel Sweet Takes am Hasbro-Messestand, signiert dieses für Fans und steht für Fotos bereit. Außerdem kündigte Hasbro Monopoly App Banking an, bei dem eine App durch Scannen von Geld und Karten die Rolle der Bank übernimmt, sowie 4 Gewinnt Bounce, bei dem auch mehr als zwei Spielende ihre Scheiben vom Tisch ins horizontale Raster springen lassen dürfen.

At the upcoming SPIEL in Essen, Hasbro Games and its subsidiary Avalon Hill will be presenting their new products together in hall 7 at booth E211. Among them is a new work by Elizabeth Hargrave, “Kennerspiel des Jahres” winner of 2019 with Wingspan: In 2026, she will release Sanibel at Avalon Hill, a strategy game that appeals to a broader target group, including families. On the beach, players collect shells washed up by the sea, illustrated with watercolors by Dahl Taylor. The aim is to combine tactics with a meditative experience.

Avalon Hill is also releasing the first expansion for Life in Reterra called Moonrise, in which Eric M. Lang and Ken Gruhl stage a post-apocalyptic reconstruction. Cosmolancer is a new idea by Reiner Knizia where space photographers place cameras to capture the most beautiful aspects of the universe. Joe Manganiello, known as an actor from “True Blood” and “Magic Mike,” is the author of the HeroQuest expansion The Crypt of Perpetual Darkness: His dungeon crawler adventure includes ten quests with a black dragon, new enemies, and exclusive miniatures. The newly revised base game HeroQuest: First Light is recommended for beginners aged 14 and up.

Talisman Nemesis – Call of the Hunt, an expansion for the 5th edition of Talisman, will be released in November: While one player takes on the Nemesis role, the others must defeat them in three trials featuring new creatures and mechanics. Avalon Hill is still keeping quiet about two world premieres for 2026 that will be unveiled in Essen, including another HeroQuest expansion and a new game from a renowned designer duo.

A recently honored celebrity will be traveling from Japan to Essen for the Hasbro label: Hisashi Hiyashi, this year's “Spiel des Jahres” winner with Bomb Busters (Pegasus Spiele), will present his new, beginner-friendly trick-taking game Sweet Takes at the Hasbro booth on Thursday afternoon (October 23), sign it for fans, and be available for photos. Hasbro also announced Monopoly App Banking, in which an app takes on the role of the bank by scanning money and cards, and Connect Four Bounce, where two or more players can bounce their discs from the table into the horizontal grid.
