(th)

As reported previously, the Game Designers Association (Spiele-Autoren-Zunft / SAZ) cannot organize its Game Designers Meeting in Göttingen this year, but a virtual alternative will take place on June 12-13. Next Saturday, the corresponding website will go online, listing all participating publishers; their respective logos will link to various game presentations, with each exhibitor organizing this individually. Appointments can be made with the publishers from this date (May 8) on.

Designers can register until May 17 to present their prototypes. All that is required is an e-mail to office@spieleautorenzunft.de with the following information: name, portrait photo (max. 350 x 350 pixels), introductory text (max. 400 characters with own priorities and references to current prototypes), and e-mail address for contacting. One can also voluntarily send in a preview picture of one's new development (max. 350 x 350 pixels) and a link to the author profile on the SAZ website. The association will then compile all the information in a document and make it available to the participating publishers and designers via a password-protected page; because there's no guarantee that the data will not leak out to the public, each author is asked to "consciously" decide for him- / herself how much to reveal about his / her prototypes. The photo shows an example of what such a presentation might look like.

On May 5, designers can ask questions about the event via Zoom, before all participants receive the necessary access data on May 20. The meeting itself with a Zoom meeting point will begin on Saturday, June 12 (9.00 am - 5.30 pm CET) and continue on Sunday (9.00 am - 2.00 pm CET). On Saturday evening, the winner of this year's German Scholarship for Young Game Authors will be announced.
