01.02.2020 - Das Spielefestival in Cannes (21.-23.2.) hat die diesjährigen Nominierten für den französischen Jurypreis As d'Or bekannt gegeben. Ins Finale für das beste Kinderspiel schafften es Attrape rêves (Verlag: Space Cow), Tal der Wikinger (Haba), Roulapik (Gigamic) und YumYum Island (erneut Space Cow). Die Auszeichnung für das beste Expertenspiel geht entweder an Gloomhaven (Cephalofair), It's a Wonderful World (La Boite de jeu), Res Arcana (Asmodée) oder Root (Matagot). Hoffnungen auf das As d'Or für das beste Spiel des Jahres, das sich für die ganze Familie eignet, dürfen sich Draftosaurus (Ankama), Fiesta de los muertos (OldChap), Little Town (Iello) und Oriflamme (Gigamic) machen. Wer die drei Kategorien gewonnen hat, erfährt man anlässlich des Spielefestivals in drei Wochen.
Schon jetzt ist hingegen der Sieger des DuAli 2020 bekannt, eines Spielepreises für Zwei-Personen-Spiele, den die mehr als 800 Mitglieder des deutschen Ali Baba Spieleclubs zum sechsten Mal gewählt haben. Dieses Jahr landete Mandala von Trevor Benjamin und Brett J. Gilbert, erschienen bei Lookout Games, auf dem ersten Platz, nachdem es 41,18 von 50 möglichen Punkten erreicht hatte. Drei Kriterien umfassten Optik / Haptik, Spielanleitung und Spielspaß, mit jeweils maximal zehn Punkten belohnt; der Spielspaß wurde jedoch dreifach gewertet, weil er laut Vereins-Pressesprecher Martin Brock-Konzen absolut das Wichtigste für die Clubmitglieder sei. Mandala schlug damit Naga Raja (Hurrican) und Robin von Locksley (Wyrmgold) auf den Rängen zwei und drei. Insgesamt waren 18 Titel eingereicht worden, so viele wie noch nie. Für den DuAli 2021 können sich schon jetzt Autoren, Verlage und Vertriebspartner mit Spielen bewerben, die zwischen dem 1.1. und dem 31.12.2020 auf dem deutschen Markt erscheinen; die Einsender stellen jeweils fünf Exemplare ihrer Spiele bereit, damit der Club sie an seinen zehn Standorten ausprobieren kann. In den Vorjahren hatten Imhotep - Das Duell (Kosmos), Codenames Duett (Czech Games Edition), Bohnanza - Das Duell (Amigo), 7 Wonders Duel (Repos) und Tod dem Tyrannen (Heidelberger) gewonnen.

The winner of the sixth DuAli, on the other hand, has already been announced, an award for two-player games, chosen by more than 800 members of the German Ali Baba Spieleclub. Mandala beat Naga Raja (Hurrican) and Robin von Locksley (Wyrmgold) in second and third place. A total of 18 titles had been submitted, more than ever before. For the DuAli 2021, designers, publishers and distributors can already apply with games released on the German market between January 1 and December 31, 2020; each entrant needs to provide five copies of their game so that the club can try them out at its ten locations.
