30.04.2026 - Mit rund 1.200 Mitgliedern bezeichnet sich der Ali Baba Spieleclub als den größten Club seiner Art in Deutschland. Bisher fand man Ali-Baba-Standorte in Nürnberg, Ingolstadt, Regensburg, Bamberg, Erlangen, Köln, Nahetal, Berlin, Chemnitz, Stuttgart, Neubrandenburg und im Spreewald. Jetzt sind zwei weitere hinzugekommen: Neue Regionalverbände gibt es künftig in Nettetal, wo einer frisch gegründet wurde, sowie in Dormagen, wo man den bisher zweiten Standort des Kölner Ablegers in die Eigenständigkeit beförderte. Damit bespielen nun insgesamt drei Ali-Baba-Zweigstellen das bevölkerungsreichste deutsche Bundesland.
In Nettetal wird Petra Wigman-Prigge den neuen Regionalverband leiten. Sie betrieb im Ortsteil Hinsbeck bisher das Spielecafé Jungbrunnen, das Ende April schließt, und bietet künftig gemeinsam mit ihrem Team eine ca. 1.600 Titel umfassende Ludothek an. Spieletreffen sind immer donnerstags in den einzelnen Stadtteilen Lobberich, Kaldenkirchen, Hinsbeck und Breyell geplant, ergänzt von Sonntagen im Nettetaler Krankenhaus.
Den Dormagener Regionalverband verantwortet Andreas Bögner, der vor etwa einem Jahr in seiner Heimatstadt eine Zweigstelle des Kölner Regionalverbands eröffnet hatte. Hier führt er das monatliche Spielen in der evangelischen Kirche und in Kooperation mit dem dortigen Büchereiteam fort. Außerdem gibt es neu einen zweiten Standort bei der Baptistenkirche, der ebenfalls einmal monatlich Gastgeber ist, der Club möchte aber die Spieletreffen weiter ausbauen.

With around 1,200 members, the Ali Baba Spieleclub describes itself as the largest club of its kind in Germany. Until now, Ali Baba locations could be found in Nuremberg, Ingolstadt, Regensburg, Bamberg, Erlangen, Cologne, Nahetal, Berlin, Chemnitz, Stuttgart, Neubrandenburg, and the Spreewald. Now two more have been added: There will be new regional chapters in Nettetal, where a brand-new one has been established, as well as in Dormagen, where the previously second location of the Cologne branch has been made independent. This means that a total of three Ali Baba branches now serve Germany’s most populous state.
In Nettetal, Petra Wigman-Prigge will lead the new regional chapter. She previously ran the Jungbrunnen game café in the Hinsbeck district, which is closing at the end of April, and will now, together with her team, offer a game library comprising approximately 1,600 titles. Game meetups are scheduled every Thursday in the individual districts of Lobberich, Kaldenkirchen, Hinsbeck, and Breyell, supplemented by Sundays at the Nettetal Hospital.
Andreas Bögner is in charge of the Dormagen regional association; about a year ago, he had opened a branch of the Cologne regional association in his hometown. He will continue to host monthly game nights at the Protestant church in collaboration with the local library team. In addition, there is now a second location in Dormagen at the Baptist church, which also hosts a monthly event; however, the club would like to expand its game schedule further.
