31.01.2023 - Die letzten beiden Male hatte das Austria Center Vienna (ACV) auf seinem Messegelände selbst das Wiener Spielefest veranstaltet. Jetzt gaben die Organisatoren bekannt, dass das Ereignis dieses Jahr aussetzen wird und man außerdem einen neuen Partner an Bord holen will: "Nachdem das Austria Center Vienna das Wiener Spielefest in den Jahren 2019 und 2022 vorübergehend als Eigenveranstaltung durchgeführt hat, wird derzeit an einer möglichen Übernahme durch einen erfahrenen Messeveranstalter gearbeitet. Das Austria Center Vienna soll dabei weiterhin als Location und Partner zur Verfügung stehen. Ziel ist es, das Konzept – bestehend aus der klassischen Spielothek in Kombination mit digitalen, Show-/ und Kreativ-Elementen – weiter zu vergrößern und dadurch die Anzahl der Aussteller entsprechend zu erhöhen. Das Jahr 2023 werden wir nutzen, um intensive Gespräche zu führen und ausreichend Zeit für die Weiterentwicklung zur Verfügung zu stellen. Daher ist das Zieldatum für das nächste Wiener Spielefest der Herbst 2024."

2022 hatte das Wiener Spielefest 14.900 Besucher gezählt, 1.200 mehr als vor der Pandemie im Jahr 2019. Das ACV ist das größte Kongresszentrum Österreichs. (th)

The Austria Center Vienna (ACV) had organized the last two editions of Vienna's games festival Wiener Spielefest at its own exhibition grounds. Now the company announced that the festival will pause this year and that they also want to include a new partner: "After the Austria Center Vienna temporarily held the Wiener Spielefest as its own event in 2019 and 2022, we are currently working on a possible takeover by an experienced fair organizer. The Austria Center Vienna will continue to be available as a location and partner. The aim is to further expand the concept - consisting of the classic Spielothek in combination with digital, show and creative elements - and thereby increase the number of exhibitors accordingly. We will use the year 2023 to hold intensive discussions and provide sufficient time for further development. Therefore, the target date for the next Wiener Spielefest is fall 2024."
In 2022, the event had welcomed 14,900 visitors, 1,200 more than in 2019 before the pandemic started. ACV is Austria's largest conference center.
