19.06.2023 - Vom 14. bis 16.7. findet die nächste Berlin Brettspiel Con (BBC) statt, als Sommerfestival ausgerichtete Spielemesse für die ganze Familie. Angekündigt sind mehr als 80 Aussteller, eine kostenlose Spieleausleihe, ein Spiel-Areal mit 1.700 Plätzen sowie ein Flohmarkt, für den sich Verkäufer hier anmelden können. Außerdem laufen am Freitag (ab 17.30 Uhr) und Samstag (ab 19 Uhr) zwei "GameNights", an denen mit offener Ausleihe jeweils bis um Mitternacht gespielt werden kann. Veranstaltungsort ist diesmal noch die STATION Berlin in der Luckenwalder Straße.
"Noch" - richtig gelesen, denn für 2024 steht ein Tapetenwechsel ins Haus: Zur übernächsten BBC vom 19. bis 21.07.2024 bezieht die Messe das ebenfalls in der Hauptstadt gelegene Estrel Convention Center in der Sonnenallee 225. Die Organisatoren sagten, sie verließen die STATION Berlin "mit einem weinenden und einem lachenden Auge"; seit 2019 sei die Berlin Brettspiel Con hier zuhause gewesen, und man werde den Charme der alten Bahnhofshallen vermissen. Gleichzeitig freue man sich aber "riesig" über die Chancen und Möglichkeiten der neuen Location. Ein Vorteil ist, dass sich Gäste direkt in diesem größten Hotel der Stadt eines der mehr als 1.000 Zimmer buchen können. So könne laut Veranstalter ein Großteil der Teilnehmer und Aussteller ein ganzes Wochenende unter einem Dach verbringen. Am grundsätzlichen Inhalt der Messe soll aber festgehalten werden, inklusive Spielbereich, GameNights, Flohmarkt und Ausstellerbereich.
Der Ticketvorverkauf für die Con 2024 startet voraussichtlich im September, Zimmer lassen sich aber schon jetzt über das BBC-Besucherkontingent reservieren. Für Aussteller gibt es ein weiteres Kontingent. Alle weiteren Infos zum Standortwechsel sind hier zusammengefasst. (th)

From July 14 to 16, the next Berlin Brettspiel Con (BBC) will take place, a game fair designed as a summer festival for the whole family. More than 80 exhibitors have been announced, accompanied by a free game library, a playing area with 1,700 seats as well as a flea market, whose sellers can register here. In addition, two "GameNights" will be held on Friday (starting at 5.30 p.m.) and Saturday (7 p.m.), during which borrowed games can be played until midnight. The venue is still the STATION Berlin in Luckenwalder Straße.
For 2024, a change of scenery is in store: the following BBC (July 19-21, 2024) will relocate to the Estrel Convention Center in Sonnenallee 225, likewise in the capital. The organizers said they'll be leaving the STATION Berlin with mixed feelings: since 2019 the Berlin Brettspiel Con had been at home there, and the charm of the old train station halls would be missed. At the same time, however, they're "hugely excited" about the opportunities and possibilities of the new location. One advantage is that guests can book one of the more than 1,000 rooms directly in this largest hotel of the city. According to the hosts, this means that the majority of participants and exhibitors can spend an entire weekend under one roof. However, the basic content of the show is to be maintained, including the playing area, GameNights, the flea market and the exhibitor area.
Advance ticket sales for the 2024 event are expected to start in September, but rooms can already be reserved through the BBC visitor contingent. There's an additional contingent for exhibitors. All further information about the change of location is summarized here.
